Elizabeth Ann, where are you now? At the southwest corner of St. Georges and 10th St, in North Vancouver, apparently. Or at least that is the name of the apartment building there.
Apartment names; they are my new wandering obsession. They reveal a lot about us. We are very British, a bit French, surprisingly Spanish too, and a tiny touch of…Romanian? Or maybe Esperanto? We like views – mountain and sea particularly. We like trees, exotic lands, and universities (Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, but not, say, Oklahoma State University Tulsa). We express ourselves in cheerful painted scripts, cheap plywood signs, engraved marble, stained concrete, carved wood, Helvetica and home-made gothic lettering. And we strive to immortalize those dear to us – Carmen and Lilliana, Shannon and Lorraine – now perhaps gone the way that so many of the old apartment buildings in development-crazed North Vancouver are going.

I couldn’t stop going back through! I loved the aesthetic of Coachman Manor the best. Clever series. Great shots!
